The aim of this paper is to investigate the correlates between urban characteristics and air pollution using panel data which is composed of time series data of 1989 through 2003 and cross section data of 22 cities. The factors of urban characteristics which composed fifteen variables and two dependent variables about air pollution are selected for this analysis and six models were used to find the optimum model including OLS and TSCSREG(Time Series Cross Section Regression). The result proved that the most suitable model is Parks method of TSCSREG that assumes a first-order autoregressive error
